Our Story & Staff
Meet our staff.

Doctor Bruening grew up here in Lincoln County. She was a 1994 graduate of Troy-Buchannan High School. Always surrounded by animals on her parent’s rural property, she grew up with her Chocolate Lab, Mike, several kitties, riding & showing horses and showing hogs in 4-H. She went to Missouri State (formerly SMS) for undergraduate where she met her husband, in a military honors fraternity. They were married shortly after graduation. She earned a degree in Communications/Public Relations and worked for a few years in the Newspaper business, but soon realized her calling was in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Since then, she has been a SAHM & homeschool mom while raising their children and working part-time for Banfield and privately owned veterinary clinics. She spent the last five years working for Dr. Falls at Falls Vet Care in Troy, Missouri. It’s been her favorite job so far. She loved working in her community amongst friends & neighbors and their pets and with her mentor, Dr. Falls, & the best team of vet-techs and receptionists ever. Dr. Bruening never planned on leaving, but then God dropped the opportunity to own her own practice in her lap. After much thoughtful prayer she left to pursue Little Country Home Pet Vaccine Clinic. She & her husband Ben, now a retired US Army Major after 27 years of military service, are excited to bring more opportunities for vet care to their community in the form of a small animal, part-time vaccine and preventative care clinic.

I have been a Veterinary Technician since 2012. I graduated from Sanford Brown College with an associates degree in applied science. I currently have 1 German Shepherd named Sage. I enjoy spending my time with my family, camping, and golfing.

Alicia has been in the field for 7 years and has an associate’s degree in animal science. She brightens our clinic with her laughter and great sense of humor. She loves educating clients on puppy/kitten care, vaccines and prevention. She finds great satisfaction in watching them grow and bonding with them.
At home she has a Doberman named Myda and an Australian Shepherd named Jax and a husband and two children she adores. When she is not at work she enjoys reading, binging her favorite tv shows, attempting to keep her house plants alive and hanging out with her friends.
